Trend #2 Augmented Reality / Immersive Learning

Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that helps bring the physical world into the digital world by creating layers of digital information on top of the physical world that can be viewed using a mobile device. It just brings your physical world to life and makes it more exciting! In the classroom this technology can be used to create mind blowing interactive & immersive learning experiences for learners. Elements 4D, Anatomy 4D and Aurasma are some of the apps currently used by teachers to create interactive learning experiences in the classroom. Digital content can be layered on top of printed materials, objects or even geographic locations and when using the app on a smart device these contents are triggered automatically for users to experience. For example: the school library could make use of AR technology to give links to video book reviews. A homework task could have specific triggers setup that would lead pupils to help videos, to complete those tasks.
